Apple Volume Purchasing Program
By providing this purchasing program through Erie 1 Boces/WNYRIC the district will have the ability to more easily and efficiently purchase and install apps for quicker use in the classroom.
Stage 1 - PROJECT
#1 District buys voucher under project
- Establish new account through Apple Volume Purchasing Program
- Uses Tax Exempt status
- Purchases vouchers with P.O.
- Receives voucher in mail 3-5 days
- Creates Program Facilitator accounts for personnel in District
- Provide voucher code # to Program Facilitators
Benefits: BOCES/RIC can access district accounts for accountability and auditing purposes.
Stage 2 - IDENTIFY APP IMPLEMENTATION TEAM
- Send information from BOCES/RIC to Authorized Purchaser in district
- Identify staff who will act as Program Facilitators (tech. coord, dept. head)
- Disseminate USERNAMES/PASSWORDS and voucher code to PROGRAM FACILITATORS.
- District works with Team to create rubrics for identification of appropriate apps.
Benefits: District Administrator knows all usernames & passwords for accountability purposes.
Stage 3 - DISSEMINATION OF APPS
- Receives username/password and voucher code from AUTHORIZED PURCHASER.
- Through the APP STORE VOLUME PURCHASE site, search &purchase Apps. Receive app specific codes from Apple (in spreadsheet).
- Use app-specific codes to disseminate USER/NAMES/PASSWORDS and Voucher Code to PROGRAM FACILITATORS.

- assigns Authorized Purchaser & program facilitators at district
- Inventories apps to specific machines
- Will setup the Authorized Purchaser agreement with Apple to offer $100, $200, $500, $5000 vouchers
- Will periodically monitor district app purchases for auditing purposes
- Will assist district with app rubrics and recommendations & training as appropriate
The WNYRIC utilizes cost effective best practices determined by research that allows our experienced and trained technical staff to perform robust testing and support of the WNYRIC network in the areas of security, infrastructure, energy management, virtualization strategies, disaster recovery and business continuity. Therefore, we are able to be a district advocate for vendor contract issues and aggressively negotiate contract pricing and performance terms.
Staff follow best practices in order to provide necessary security as it relates to the most recent student, teacher and principal data security and privacy regulations.
