Comprehensive School Counseling Plan
Erie 1 BOCES is offering sequential, 2-to 3-year, capacity-building professional development and technical assistance for school counselors seeking to align guidance plans with new regulations. School-based teams will learn how to development, update, implement, assess and sustain a comprehensive school counseling plan for their district and school community.
The New York State Department of Education Board of Regents is in the process of updating the Commissioner’s Regulations (CR100.2). The Regulations require school districts to have an updated guidance plan that is aligned with research and national best practices and addresses academic, career and personal/ social needs of students, with an emphasis on academic success for every student. Based on the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) and the New York State School Counselor Association (NYSSCA) models, School-based teams will learn how to development, update, implement, assess and sustain a Comprehensive School Counseling Plan for their district and school community.
The district will plan in advance and provide appropriate district representation at the training/session.
This service includes planning, facilitation, preparation of materials, customization and collaboration among staff as needed by Erie 1 BOCES.
